A Singapore Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration 9V-SKJ performing flight SQ-333 from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Singapore (Singapore) with 444 passengers, was enroute south of Krakow (Poland) about 150 minutes into the flight, when the crew detected an oil leak in engine #1 (Trent 970, outboard left hand) and decided to shut the engine down. The airplane turned around and returned to Paris, where the airplane landed safely about 5:15 after departure.
The passengers were brought to hotels.
The flight is currently expected to reach Singapore with a delay of 30 hours.
