1. new Eireflyer site

In our continuous efforts to improve the popularity of our Irish division we decided to launch a brand new separate site for it. Together with the new colors and our new dedicated Eireflyer management team we hope to make Eireflyer one of the top va's in the Irish va market. We also see a bright future for Eireflyer as we will be basing new aircrafts in Dublin over the coming months to extend the flight offer and attract more Dublin based pilots. You can visit the new Eireflyer on http://www.eire.flyabb.com

2. new Terravia site

As we are striving to have some unique and refreshing stuff at Air Belgium we decided to overhaul the site of our Ground handling company Terravia. Besides a new look you are also able to download some ground handling equipment to use in your FS, only a basic offer now but that will be enhanced in the future. We are also always looking for new va's to handle in our bases. you can visit the new Terravia site on http://www.terravia.be

3. our brand new promotion video

Promoting a va is always one of the hardest things to do, and even though we have become a rather popular va that has gained a lot of members by mouth to moth advertising lately, we felt that it might be time to release a new promotional video. This is also an extremely important step in the new direction Air Belgium has taken, we stepped away from just being another va based in Brussels to offering more and new stuff to our pilots. The start of this new direction at Air Belgium was given by the launch of the revised colors last month and will be continued to improve our va to match the top va's. We have a lot of things planned for the coming months which will surely be surprising and setting new standards, but we feel this is only a logical next step in our evolution as a va.

Thus this month it's time to kick off with our new advertising policy, of which this first promotional video is the first product. We will be producing more similar stuff throughout the next month so stay tuned!!! (click on the image to download the movie)

4. Fleet update

This month the fleet renewal program has reached a second phase at air Belgium. Thanks to the progressing delivery of our new A340-600 planes we have managed to retire 4 of our MD11's which are now stored in Ostend waiting for a new owner. The remaining 6 MD11's will be retired by the end of the year and thus our fleet age will go down considerably.

The other airplane type to leave the fleet soon will be the small fleet of 3 A300-600R planes used on high density leisure services. They will all 3 be retired after they wont be needed anymore after the summer rush in october.

Our last ATR72-500 has left the fleet after enough Dash8Q-400 have been delivered, the remaining ATR42-500's will be retired though the course of the year aswell providing us with a more modern and efficient fleet in early 2007. The last ATR72 flight was AJ2507 from London Gatwick to Luxembourg Findel on Friday 19 may 2006. This flight has since been operated by our new Dash8-Q400 equipment. here's still one pic of the last Air Belgium ATR72 flight:

So that was it again for this month, because of the summer holidays we will only publish one press release for both July and August, but as of September you can enjoy our normal monthly updates again. Take care and till the next ;)
