Unser nächster Bestimmungsort war Pago Pago. Kopilot Otto wurde immer mehr und mehr merkwürdig...

So this morning we were off to Pago Pago. I was rather anxious upon arriving at the airport as F.O. Otto had left the hotel the evening before muttering that he had some "serious business" to do..

 

But he was waiting for me in the dispatch room, so all was well.

 

It was a bit tough being able to see our "hotel" as we were going through the checklists..



 

But as soon as we started boarding our minds (well, at least mine) were focussed on the next 2 hours.



 

Yet another South Pacific island, yet another backtrack....



 

I wouldn't want to attempt to t/o with a fully laden heavy with those things sticking out over there!



 

And.. rotate!



 

Whoaa: an ideal place for spotters, but keep it reeeeeal steady, Otto!



 



 



 



 

Might be a bind getting out of bed at such an hour, but the sights are worth the trip alone!



 

Sharon had been lured back to Eazy (something about a fat bonus, I heard), but we managed to get Mei-Ling's services. ;)



 

Wow: looks like an island in the South Pacific! Amazing!



 

Otto mumbled something about the night life awaiting us. I asked him to concentrate on the glidescope...

Yet another crooked runway. Just typical, tsssss!



 

But dasterdly DBE saved the day, once again...



 

Armed his sidewinders..



 

And blasted those aliens straight back to their maker. Yeeehaaaah!



 

Nice colour scheme! :well:



 

F.O. Otto had radioed ahead for our pickup: no boat this time.. :(



 

But hey: this would do fine! ;)



 

Our driver told us she used to live in Frankfurt and couldn't bear leaving her beemer behind.



 

She also proceeded to give us a couple of useful adresses for the night, which Otto scribbled down attentively...



 

...and as it turned out, much too attentively! :(
